  • 5 medium potatoes
  • 4 medium carrots
  • 2 medium sized onions
  • Butter or margarine
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Carrot Onion Mashed Potatoes Recipe Preparation

Peel and cut the potatoes and carrots into pieces. The size doesn’t matter, the smaller the sooner it cooks. In a large saucepan, put the potato pieces first and then the carrot pieces. Then peel the onions and cut them into four parts and add them to the pot.
Add boiling water until all the vegetables are under the water, turn on the fire and let it cook. With a fork you can check if the potatoes and carrots are cooked. Take it off the heat and strain the water.
Puree is brought to a soft consistency with a masher. Add a tablespoon of butter and optionally salt and pepper.

This is a Dutch dish and is usually served with meat. As you can see in the picture, I chose to make a steak and it was delicious. Mustard is put on the side as a sauce and pickles go well with it.
