Cauliflower Gratin (Baked Cauliflower) Recipe Preparation
Put 1 teaspoon of thick salt, half a tablespoon of vinegar in half a pot of water and let it boil.
On the other hand, clean the leaves of the cauliflower and cut off the root parts. Cut into large pieces of flowers or thick slices and rinse with cold water.
Leave the chopped cauliflowers to boil for 10-15 minutes in warm salted vinegar water.
Meanwhile, melt 50 grams of solid oil (can be butter) in a steel saucepan.
Add 40 grams of flour little by little to the melted butter, stirring constantly.
After mixing the flour with the oil for about 3 minutes, add 1.5 or 2 glasses of milk to the flour little by little by mixing, but stirring constantly.
When the milk gets hot, it will start to thicken (without getting too thick). When you see that the milk is getting hot, add salt and pepper and grate half a teaspoon of nutmeg to give it a little smell.
Immediately add a handful of grated cheddar cheese, mix. Immediately add the yolks of two eggs, mix and remove the pot from the stove.
Probably the cauliflower you put in the water has been boiled. Strain the water (even if it doesn’t stay hard but overcooked and disperse).
Put the cauliflowers in a single layer in a scattered manner on a baking tray greased with thick oil.
Pour the cream you have made enough to cover all sides.
Sprinkle about two more handfuls of grated cheddar cheese on top of the cream. Put it in the oven at 180 degrees (Thermostat 6).
Your meal is ready when the cheddar is browned. Enjoy your meal.
