Ingredients for Donauwelle
- 280 gr flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 220 g margarine
- 2 tablespoons of margarine
- 250 g sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 5 eggs, separated
- 2 teaspoons cocoa
- 400 gr sour cherry
For the cream:
- 220 g margarine
- 2 tablespoons of margarine
- 190 g powdered sugar
- 2 egg yolks
For the above:
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 250 g cream
How is Donauwelle Made?
- Preheat the oven at 180 degrees and lay the coarse greaseproof paper on which you will cook.
- Beat 220 gr + 2 tablespoons of margarine in a bowl with the help of a mixer until it reaches a creamy consistency. Continue beating together with the sugar, vanilla and 5 egg yolks.
- Mix the flour and baking powder in a bowl. Combine with oil mixture.
- Take the egg whites in a bowl, with the help of a mixer, beat the egg whites until they turn into white foam.
- With the help of a spatula, take a spoonful of the dough from the dough and slowly combine the other mixture with the egg whites.
- Pour half of the dough into the baking tray you prepared, add cocoa to the remaining portion and mix. Add cocoa powder on top.
- Arrange the cherries on top.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes. Then let it cool.
- For the cream, beat 220 gr + 2 tablespoons of margarine, sugar and egg yolk. When it reaches a creamy consistency, spread it on the cold cake.
- Bring the cream to a boil over low heat, turn off the heat.
- Finely chop the chocolate, lay it in the cream and wait for it to melt.
- Pour it on the cake after it is warm and serve after it has completely cooled. Enjoy your meal.
