Ingredients for the Log Pie
For Cake:
- 30 g flour
- 56 g cocoa
- 1 g of salt
- 4 eggs
- 85 g granulated sugar
For the inner cream:
- 200 g cream
- 30 g powdered sugar
- 5 g vanillin
For the ganache:
- 100 g cream
- 100 grams dark chocolate
How to Make a Log Cake?
- For the cake: First of all, the eggs you use should be at room temperature. Put some water in the pot and boil it.
- Put another heat-resistant bowl on it so that it does not touch the water and break the eggs into it, add the sugar and beat with the help of a mixer until the eggs become fluffy and warm.
- Remove the bain-marie from the stove and continue to beat with the mixer for 10 minutes. In another bowl, mix the cocoa, flour and salt and gently fold this mixture into the egg mixture, mix it with a spatula without turning it off.
- Put greaseproof paper on a baking tray and pour the cake batter flat on the tray and smooth it out. Bake in a preheated 225 degree fan oven for 7 minutes. Take it out and let it cool.
- For the inner cream; Take the cream, powdered sugar and vanilla in a bowl and beat with the help of a mixer until the cream rises and hardens. Spread the cream inside the cake and wrap it in a roll.
- For the ganache; Cook the cream until it bubbles from the sides and immediately turn off the heat, add the chocolates and mix quickly until they melt. Put the ganache in the fridge and let it cool completely.
- Cut 1/3 of the roll you wrapped and place it next to the remaining cake. Spread the cooled ganache on top, cover it all over, and shape it like a log with a fork. Serve after garnishing as desired. Enjoy your meal.
