Ingredients for Leek Recipe with Olive Oil

  • 5 leeks
  • 1 medium size carrot
  • 1 onion
  • 1 handful of rice (maybe less, it’s up to your preference, we like it with rice)
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste
  • Half a teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Water (about 1 finger over)

Leek Recipe with Olive Oil

Peel and wash your leeks. Slice your washed leeks on a slant (see the picture). Rinse again.

Take your pot, chop your onions in squares for meals, fry them in olive oil for 1-2 minutes, then add your granulated sugar so that your onions are glassy (I add sugar in olive oil when frying onions, my grandmother always used to have mercy on them) and add your tomato paste, fry a little more, then add your washed leeks. Add salt and pepper and turn the leeks in your pot with a spoon 1-2 times, Now add the water finally.
(Whether the water is enough to pass the top of the leeks by 1-2 fingers or not, otherwise you will have a juicy leek.) Turn on the bottom of your stove, as soon as the water boils, throw the washed rice and mix it for the last time 1-2 times. Turn down the bottom of your boiling food, let it cook on low heat and let it drain.

Note: I think it will be more delicious if the newlyweds cook all the pot dishes on low heat from the moment they boil in medium heat until they boil, keep in mind :)))))))

Close the bottom of your pot close to the leeks getting juice. Let the cooked leeks cool in the pot, then you will put them in the pyrex pot.

In my opinion, after all the olive oil is cooked, the pot in which it is cooked should also cool down and then the pot should be changed.

Note: You added the water of your leek and mixed it with a spoon for the last 1-2 times and closed the lid of the pot, or after that stage, don’t go and mix it by inserting a spoon into the pot. For this reason, do not mix your leeks, what will we do without mixing, let the rice stick to my bottom no! You can handle this mixing job by shaking your pot back and forth or clockwise when it needs to be mixed.

You can add as much salt and lemon as you want while eating your leek.
