- 5-6 branches of leek
- 3 carrots
- 1 teaspoon of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of rice
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon flour
- 4 glasses of water
Leek Recipe with Olive Oil
Let’s wash the rice in cold water, drain the water and keep it aside. Let’s cut off the green leafy parts of the leeks. Let’s peel off the top skin and throw it away. Let’s wash the leek and cut it into two finger thicknesses. Scrape the carrots with a knife and chop finely. Next, heat the olive oil in a saucepan. Let’s add the carrots and then the leeks to the oil and close the lid of the pot. Let it cook for 5-10 minutes on medium heat. In the meantime, mix the water, sugar, salt, flour and lemon juice in a bowl and whisk well. Add this mixture to the leeks and close the lid of the pot. When the leeks and carrots start to soften, let’s add the rice, which we washed and drained before, to the leek. Let’s boil the food until the rice is well cooked. After the rice is cooked, take the pan off the stove and let it cool. Let’s serve our food cold. Enjoy your meal.
